Offset Interrupts Cardi B's Set at Rolling Loud Festival

offset cardi b rolling loud festival

Being a star in the spotlight, privacy doesn't exist -  Cardi B and Offset were rumoured to have broken up just a couple of months after baby Kulture was born. This was proven to be true after Cardi B posted a video to her instagram stating that her and former partner, rapper Offset, are no longer together. Through sources in the media the revealation was made that Offset had been unfaithful and therefore was left by wife. After regret and trying to get Cardi back, Offset went on stage whilst one of Cardi B's performancxes at Rolling Loud Festival to apologise to her for hi8s unfaithful behaviour. The moment at the Rolling Loud Festival was captured on video, and the clip shows a stunned Cardi as a wall of flowers is rolled onto the stage, displaying three words: “Take me back.” Moments later, Offset joins the rapper onstage, and it is immediately clear that Cardi is not happy with the gesture. The incident ends with Offset exiting into the wings, and his “gifts” removed from the stage. Fans who were at the concert soon took to social media to describe what went down.

This is an example of soft news as this fits under the genre of music, entertainment and celebrity gossip. Arguably, this article reflects some of the values of Teen Vogue because as well as reporting more hard news they also pay attention to celebrity news which appeals to their target audience and the pop culture interests that they have.

Secondary School Accused Of Silencing Anti-Racism Protests

A secondary school in Greenwich has accused of shutting down protests against racism and failing to take action against racist social media posts published by a white student. Awoyemi wrote on Twitter: “Very disappointed to hear that Plumstead Manor school are allowing racist behaviour against black students who are being called the “N” word by some white students. My cousin led a protest at the school, but instead they are being disciplined and silenced. They want change.” She added that the following day the children were told by staff that their response had been “silly” and “disgraceful”. In a statement posted on Twitter, the school said: “Contrary to recent twitter posts we have disciplined any students who have used offensive and racist language online. Other students have not been silenced and in fact we have listened very carefully and very hard. Please see the previous tweets for our response to this matter. On Saturday, Plumstead Manor said: “We are fully aware of the issue that has arisen over social media and the use of offensive and hate-filled language that has been associated with our school. These views do not represent the views of our community and are utterly against our ethos and values.

Although an example of soft news, this story directly links to the values of the Voice news online as it is bringing awareness to the racial abuse against minorities (especially young black people) in schools and the little that is being done to prevent/stop it from continuing. This article would be read for personal identity as people may relate to past experiences of racial abuse, especially as a child. It would also be read for informative purposes as well as personal relationships - audiences will have an opinion on this story ans will discuss and comment on the matter with other people who also feel the same way.
