"Boy, 15, leaps to his death as his mother cheers him on when homemade parachute fails to open as he jumps from the roof of a 14 storey building for social media stunt in Ukraine"

A 15 year old dived to his death from the top of a 14 storey building as adults watched and reportedly encouraged the child to perform the 'stunt'. Bogdon Firsov was aiming to parachute off of this 140ft building, but instead fell to his death as parachute failed to perform. Adults, including his mother, watched and are even said to have encouraged the teenager as he prepared to try out his makeshift parachute as part of a social media stunt.

This news story is an example of soft news as this is more of an informative human interest report - people would read this news story for surveillance and personal relationships (audiences may come together with similar opinions on this news story).

This news story is an example of soft news but, in my opinion, strongly reflects the brands values with business and economically topics having influence on their content. This was one of the most popular stories on the website and reflects the interests of the i's audience - they may be aspirers or potential succeeders.
